Birdies Birdies

The book that I choose to read for the fourth quarter reading assignment was the third book in the Hunger Games Trilogy. The book paradas under the name Mockingjay which was a reoccurring theme through the first two books. The Mockingjay is a scientific created bird by the capital that was eventually used by the rebels in their effort to defeat the capital.

The book in my opinion was a very poorly written book and was just not good all the way around. It was both annoying and disappointing. The two previous book were very well written and always had a theme of freedom and progress. Through out the entire book the author put in different story twists that made the book just a bad read and a poor experience.

I couldn't relate the book to my life because they were so many different times that the main character broke down and that is just not my style. She was never able to make decisions and was just a putts. I can't say I like the book and I give it a rating of zero.

Speaker
The speaker of this book is a narrator for the majority and is very uncaring.

Occasion
The place in which this book took place was the different districts. District 13 was very important and so was the capital.

Audience
The audience for this book is more direction to the fan base that has already been built up during the first two books of the trilogy

Purpose
The purpose of this book is conclude the trilogy and make me hate the author because she freakin ruined all the good parts.

Tone
The tone of this book is very laid back for example they killed the best character in like a single paragraph which is dumb.

Argumentation
Argue? All the argue in this book is probably about how dumb the author is. Maybe your main character should grow a pair and pick a man.

Syntax
The author did effectively use syntax throughout the book but was so unhappy I didn't pay attention to it.

Diction
I thought that diction was very appropriate for a book where in certain cases there is no civilization.

Crush it hard.

Overview of the book and how it relates to my life.

The book that I read for the third quarter book assignment is the book Crush It, written by Gary Vaynerchuk (who will hence forth be referred to as Chuck.) The book is about crushing it in today's online market. It's all about sealing yourself and personal brand on the internet. Page after page is giving advice on how to become the best on the internet, build you audience, grow you market, and buy the new york jets.

The way that this books relates to my life is very simply. I have an online image, I have a brand,  and I would like to Crush It. It's very simple for me to see the benefits to reading this book, it has advice for me and my "business partners" to succeed.

Speaker
The speaker throughout the book is Chuck, he is simply a man trying to get his ideas and thoughts across. There are occasional quotes from alterative sources but noting substantial enough to credit when referring to the speaker.

Occasion
The Occasion for this book is the modern age. The 21st century. It's a modern book that take all modern technology even tho there are a few references to the flip camera which we all know is no longer the type of camera that anyone wants to use.

Audience
The Audience for this book is absolutely every single person that wants to have a place on the internet. Anyone with a Facebook account, a Twitter, or any other persona that is on the internet that they run. Chuck speaks to all people who want to be someone (and become that person through the internet) and tells them exactly what to do to write to their audiences.

Purpose
If I hadn't already made this clear enough through the previous explanations the purpose of this book is to teach people how to make it on the internet through all the tools provided by social media sites and companies with millions in ad budgets.

Style
The style of this book is straight to the point Chuck gets straight to what he wants to say and says it with very little need of interpretation.

Tone
The overall providing tone of this book is very reflective and hopeful. Throughout the book Chuck makes references to what he had to do. He also is always referring to his knowledge or hope everyone can succeed.

Writing techniques

Argumentation
The only argument that is made through this book is that everyone can succeed and make a million dollars if they put the work in. All you have to do is try and you can buy your own sports team.

Syntax
The way that all the of the words and phrases are put together in this book at time can seem un-followable but in the end the way that it is written it very effective. It's short when it needs to be it's dragged out at time.

Diction
The word choice of this book is very friendly, it's not hard to understand and it makes you feel like what he is saying is actually possible.

I give this book 4 out of 5 millions of internet dollars.

Americeptional

This will be a two part review of the book America Again Re-Becoming the Greatest we Never Weren't. The first part will be a more over view of the books parts. The second part of this review will be a more logical analysis of the book through a six part break down.

Part One.

For my quarter two reading project I choose to read Stephen Colberts new book America Again: Re-becoming the Greatness We Never Weren't The book is clearly written in a very comical fashion as you would expect from Colbert but there is also quite a few messages in his jokes.   Even in the first section of the book or the "Terms and Conditions" which beings as you would expect but quickly deteriorates as the man writing the terms gives in and explains how frivolous and pointless what he is doing is. I believe that you can take this section in multiple different directions but I'll leave the reader up to make their own conclusions.

The whole purpose of this book is to bring to attention that despite what the news might say we are still a very great nation and a huge super power. If it weren't for our power we wouldn't we able to barge our way into other countries and impose our government and ideas with no one to stop us.

Part Two.

Speaker
The speaker is clearly Stephen Colbert throughout most of the book. He is able to keep the same style that his shows are written in through his book which is why it is a vey interesting book. If he book hadn't had the same flow and jokes as his shows then Stephen would have lost a lot of credit.

Occasion
The Occasion of this book is Americas history past present and future. (Mainly present.) The book focuses on all the different large changes in recent times like health care and such.

Audience
I believe that the main Audience of for this book is the exact same audience that watches the Colbert Report but the ones that want to get a little deeper into Stephen Colberts mind.

Purpose
The main purpose of this book is to remind everyone that reads it that america is the greatest and we always will be. Forever. Until we collapse that is but we're america we don't worry about that.

Style
The Style of the this book is exactly like the style of the Colbert Report. It's a very crude humor that pretty much makes fun of literally everyone and anyone. Which is what makes the book so good and keeps you reading. As liam said he had "three laughs per page."

Tone
The tone of the book is flamboyant and rude. But also it is the perfect tone to get the message of the book across.

Who wants to eat a coyote?

The song that I choose to analyze is Castle by Macklemore.

Approach to audience: The approach of this song is very random but there is a story line. It beings with the basic background of the song which is partying in a castle. Then the story gets a little deeper with killing a coyote and wanting to eat it. This however only comes after many references to booty.

Why I like it: I like this song because the first time that I heard it I legitimately lol'd in the car. It is souch a fun song to me and comedy is great so yup.

Individual parts:

Lyrics: The lyrics are the most random thing in the world here is an example.

"From England to Stockholm
I'm wearing a cape just like a poncho
I got a cutey and I'm making a beat on her booty
Like I was up on the roof beating up on a bongo"

Individual Instruments: The instrumental part of this song is mainly computer generated but it adds to the piece by being simple when is has to and pumping you up when the song is getting good.

Influences: I thing that there are some major influences in this song but they are hidden in how random all the words are. Most of the influences that I catch are something small that relates to a very specific group of people. Like people who like MC hammer.
